WINNERS SELECTED FOR THE 2006 INTERNATIONAL COMPETITIVE GRANT AWARDS PROGRAM FOR YOUNG INVESTIGATORS

The GlaxoSmithKline Research & Education Foundation for Cardiovascular Disease today announced the winners of its research grants program. The Competitive Grants Award Program for Young Investigators is a two-year grant program enabling young investigators and advanced cardiovascular disease fellows from around the world to obtain funding for innovative research. The grants awarded were for $55,000 per year for two years for each recipient.

Awards will be presented by Dr. Valentin Fuster, Chairman of the Foundation, at a dinner reception on March 11, 2006, during the American College of Cardiology 55th Annual Scientific Session* in Atlanta, Georgia.
